BLU-3

The BLU-3 wall panel is a simple controller which allows the designer to provide level control and source selection or preset recall in a simple wall-mounted panel.

These controllers connect to the control ports on the rear of any Soundweb London BLU Series processor.

The BLU-3 offers a rotary fader and a five-way switch. The switch could select system presets (configurations specific to times of the day for example) while the rotary control could be assigned to act as a zone volume control.

The switches on both units have blank areas for marking the switch functions, either directly onto the white area, or on self-adhesive labels.

BLU-6

The BLU-6 wall panel is a simple controller which allows the designer to provide level control and source selection or preset recall in a simple wall-mounted panel.

These controllers connect to the control ports on the rear of any BLU-16, BLU-32 or BLU-80 device.

The BLU-6 offers an eight-way switch and a pair of spin or up/down buttons, enabling the same level parameter to be mapped onto other controllers preventing a jump in audio level when the control is adjusted

The switches have blank areas for marking the switch functions, either directly onto the white area, or on self-adhesive labels.

BLU-8V2BLK

The BLU-8v2 is a HiQnet compatible programmable zone controller capable of controlling a single zone, four zones or eight zones in different modes of operation. A simple control surface and informative visual feedback ensure that non-technical users can be confident in making changes to an integrated AV system.

What's different about the v2?
The BLU-8v2 shares the same feature set and appearance as the original BLU-8 but benefits from a significant hardware upgrade. Under the surface, the BLU-8v2 has much in common with the rack-mount Soundweb London devices and this revised hardware design offers considerable enhancement to networking functionality. The BLU-8v2 is available in white or black.

BLU-10BLK

The original Soundweb 9010 Programmable Controller set new standards in control interfacing to DSP systems, and has yet to be bettered as a simple yet powerful interface. The Soundweb London equivalent, the BLU-10, builds on that power and reputation by adding touch-screen control to make a more attractive and potentially cost-saving control solution. It is possible that a BLU-10 could replace a more expensive proprietary touch screen solution where simpler control interfacing is required.

As with the Soundweb 9010, up to 100 control 'pages' of virtually any Soundweb London DSP parameter can be constructed, with the ability to create 'folders' for nested pages. Access to specific pages or folders can be restricted with the use of password protection, so that only engineers or key employees can adjust critical system parameters.

Each page can hold up to eight different functions and with navigation being carried out entirely by a page list, all of these functions can be assigned to real parameters rather than functioning as page transitions.

Programming the BLU-10

Soundweb users will be familiar with the simple drag-and-drop programming interface, and the BLU-10 interface is very similar. Once the menu pages have been created, operation of the pages can be tested using the special simulation mode, which emulates how the controller will work when in use. This allows menu structures to be checked before the system goes live.

The BLU-10 connects into a Soundweb London network via its Ethernet port, either directly into the rear of a rackmount device such as the BLU-16 with a Cat 5 crossover cable or with a standard Cat 5 cable into an Ethernet switch. The unit is powered either using the terminals on the rear, accepting a range of 12V - 48V DC or with IEEE802.3af Power Over Ethernet (POE).

Mechanical Installation

The BLU-10 mounts in a standard US 3-gang wallbox (available from BSS Audio) using the screws provided with the unit.

EC-V-BLK
The Soundweb Contrio EC-V is an Ethernet wall controller for use in Harman HiQnet systems. The EC-V can control and monitor parameters within BSS Audio Soundweb London and other HiQnet devices, including Crown DCi series amplifiers. The EC-V is available in black or white, and in single-gang US Decora or single-gang EU form factor. The EC-V contains a single Ethernet port for configuration, control, monitoring, and power via PoE. The EC-V is configured via simple drag-and-drop operations within the software application HiQnet Audio Architect.

The EC-V contains one push/rotary encoder and one encoder ring. The encoder ring is multi-color backlit, capable of eight different colors with adjustable intensity.

The push/rotary encoder can be rotated for continuous parameter control (e.g. volume). The push/rotary encoder can also be pressed for binary parameter control (e.g. mute) or preset recall.

The encoder ring can display a bouncing audio meter. When the push/rotary encoder is rotated, the encoder ring can temporarily display a volume setting. When the push/rotary encoder is pressed, the encoder ring can temporarily display a binary parameter setting (e.g. red/green for muted/unmuted status).

The EC-V supports ‘sleep’ functionality. After a specified amount of time with no user input, the EC-V can turn off all LEDs. This is useful to avoid distraction in a dimly lit environment. Any user interaction will ‘wake up’ the controller.

The EC-V can be remotely locked and unlocked via other control systems

AC-V

The Soundweb Contrio AC-V and AC-5S are simple analog wall controllers designed for use with BSS Audio Soundweb London devices. Both the AC-V and AC-5S are available in black or white, and in single-gang US Decora or single-gang EU form factor.

The AC-V and AC-5S are designed to connect to General Purpose Inputs (GPI) (also known as “Control Inputs”) found on Soundweb London devices. Most Soundweb London devices contain 12 GPI. The Soundweb London BLU-GPX contains 36 GPI.

The AC-V contains a single 47k Ohm logarithmic potentiometer which is useful for volume control. The AC-V requires one GPI. Therefore, up to 12 AC-V controllers can connect to a single Soundweb London device, and up to 36 AC-V controllers can connect to a single BLU-GPX.

The AC-5S contains a single five-position resistor ladder which is useful for source selection or preset recall. The AC-5S requires one GPI. Therefore, up to 12 AC-5S controllers can connect to a single Soundweb London device, and up to 36 AC-5S controllers can connect to a single BLU-GPX.

The AC-V and AC-5S are configured using HiQnet London Architect or HiQnet Audio Architect via simple drag and drop operations. While almost any parameter can be mapped to the physical controls, the AC-V is most commonly used for volume control, and the AC-5S is most commonly used for source selection or preset recall.
